Welcome to Braeside Farm Cottage, nestled into a sheltered corner of our farm near the top of the Ida Valley. Braeside is a 5500ha high-country sheep and beef farm, and has been in the McKnight family since 1878. It is currently farmed by the 4th generation of McKnights – brothers Graeme and Alastair, and Al’s partner Philippa.
Previously used as a shearer’s quarters, the cottage has beautiful views over the valley – sunrises over Rough Ridge, the distinctive Hawkduns to the North, and stunning evening skies over Blackstone Hill in the west.
In a paddock beside the historic stone-walled sheep yards, the newly refurbished cottage sleeps 6, has a comfortable kitchen/lounge and a shared bathroom and you can enjoy relaxing on the deck at the end of your day as the sun goes down.
Meals
Dinner and Breakfast are provided at Braeside, and are included in your room rate.
Dinner will be ready for you to heat when you’ve finished your wine on the deck and could be Vension Meatballs, roast potatoes, salad and Pavlova…or Roast Hoggett with all the trimmings…or Chicken Gratin or… (Philippa enjoys cooking and uses fresh local produce, so the meal on the day will reflect this.)
Bacon, eggs, cereals, fruit and yoghurt are available for your breakfast.
